Description

Project Background

The "Dual-Source Trolleybus Project" was one of the key public welfare infrastructure projects of the Baoding Municipal Government in 2018. Suzhou Wanlong Electric Group was honored to participate in the construction of the Baoding Public Transit Dual-Source Trolleybus Project, providing reliable power supply solutions to ensure safe and stable operation.

Dual-source trolleybuses run on clean energy, helping to reduce urban air pollution and improve urban transport capacity. They can operate both via overhead contact wire networks and on-board batteries, ensuring uninterrupted service even during power outages or road obstructions. With construction costs of approximately RMB 10 million per kilometer, they are highly suitable for medium and large cities.

Beijing Public Transport Group's Trolleybus Branch — a veteran trolleybus operator — has been developing and operating dual-source trolleybuses for many years and leads the country in fleet scale. As part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development initiative, the group actively participated in Baoding's dual-source trolleybus construction. The traction power supply equipment for this project adopts Wanlong's Intelligent DC Traction Power System Integrated Solution for Dual-Source Trolleybuses.

Key Features

  • Intelligent Unmanned Operation: Integrates microprocessor-based protection, smart meters, and I/O modules to collect circuit parameters, breaker status, isolator positions, trolley positions, access control signals, DC insulation parameters, transformer temperature, busbar joint temperature, ambient temperature, diode over-temperature alarms, and fuse signals. Enables remote intelligent monitoring from the dispatch control center, improving operational reliability and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Comprehensive Security System: Equipped with video surveillance and HFC-227ea (heptafluoropropane) automatic fire suppression system for remote monitoring and fire prevention. Emergency lighting included.
  • Strong Environmental Adaptability: Full metal enclosure with steel-welded base; double-layer high-quality steel walls and roof with heat-insulating, flame-retardant asbestos filling. Temperature and humidity controller with industrial air conditioning — auto-activates cooling when ambient temperature rises; remote control of HVAC system supported.
  • Space-Saving Design: Highly integrated electrical equipment layout compared to civil-structure substations. Enclosure dimensions customizable based on substation capacity and equipment quantity, with appearance adaptable to surrounding environment.
  • Easy Maintenance: High-voltage and DC switchgear use draw-out (trolley-type) structures for excellent interchangeability. All compartments designed with adequate maintenance access.

2. WDQX Intelligent Catenary Feeder (Longitudinal Link) Remote Control Device

The DC 750V output from the traction substation is delivered via feeder cables to the overhead contact wire network. The WDQX device enables isolation of specific cables and contact wire sections for maintenance without disrupting vehicle power supply, using adjacent network sections for emergency interconnection.

  • Cloud platform connectivity: collects switch status, contact wire voltage on both sides, and internal temperature within seconds; supports remote switching commands via cloud platform.
  • On-site Wi-Fi support for data exchange, significantly reducing field maintenance workload.
  • Automatic voltage interlock during switching operations to prevent live/loaded switching.
  • Real-time diagnostics of switches, energy storage devices, controllers, and other key components.

3. WKS-DTMS2000 Intelligent DC Traction Electrical Monitoring & Management System with Remote O&M Platform

The monitoring system comprises an electrical monitoring system and an integrated auxiliary system. The electrical monitoring system handles real-time monitoring and data/command relay for AC and DC traction power equipment. The auxiliary system covers video surveillance, fire detection, access control, and environmental monitoring for traction substations.

The WKS-DAS1000 Data Management System is installed in each substation, collecting key operational parameters (electrical parameters, fault data, equipment status, environmental data, temperature monitoring, maintenance information, etc.) from field devices via RS485 Modbus-RTU. Data is uploaded to the remote monitoring center, which can also issue authorized remote control commands (close/open, etc.).
